Preparing future generations for an ever changing world.
Driven to breathe life into the UK economy by raising a new generation of young people who intrinsically have the skills and behaviours needed to learn, adapt and succeed in a world immersed in complexity, uncertainty and change. To do this, we recognise that the biggest impact we can make is to start embedding and fostering capability while they’re young.
While there are obvious benefits to teaching tried-and-tested knowledge, the educational syllabus needs strengthening to address new and evolving challenges that pose real barriers once young adults enter the workplace.
This is why we are developing a transformational new GCSE based on tried-and-tested Project Skills, aimed at preparing future generations for life in and beyond education.

Aiming to future-proof the UK workforce by
starting young - building the capacity of
students to thrive in an unpredictable,
fast-changing world.

Projects themselves are collaborative by nature, bringing together people and skills from all walks of life to work together and deliver a better future. The team has researched, analysed and brought together a list of essential skills that will give future generations the skills and confidence to learn, grow and positively impact the people around them, no matter what they decide to do with their lives. These core skills are:

Self-awareness and
active listening
Understanding your own feelings and
paying attention to others’ perspectives.

Defining project scope
Clearly setting goals and what needs
to be done.

The Skillsbuilder Universal Framework research in the UK showed low levels of essential employment skills - like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork - cost the UK economy around £22 billion in 2022. Students with strong literacy and numeracy, but weak soft skills, see lower employment, wages, and life satisfaction.
